Jay-Z and Beyonce may have given their first child a similarly colorful name, but another Baby Blue also arrived this week.

Victor Cruz was still wearing his hospital bracelet Wednesday at Giants practice two days after girlfriend Elaina Watley gave birth Monday to a daughter named Kennedy. The latest milestone in an incredible year for the breakout wide receiver came just six days before the Giants will visit Green Bay for Sunday’s divisional playoff game against the Packers at Lambeau Field.

“A few minutes after is when I started,” Cruz joked when asked if he broke out his trademark salsa dance when his baby was born. “It was a crazy feeling, but we made it to the hospital and everything went so smoothly.”

Cruz, 25, who set a club record with 1,536 yards on 82 receptions this season, has talked excitedly recently about how much he was looking forward to fatherhood. His father, Michael Walker, a former Paterson, N.J. firefighter, died four years ago of an apparent suicide.

Cruz said he didn’t attend practice Monday after texting director of player development Charles Way around 3 a.m. from the hospital. Tuesday traditionally is a day off for the Giants, but the undrafted former UMass star was back on the practice field Wednesday with his teammates.

“It’s been an amazing feeling, and I can’t wait to raise her and teach her all the good stuff,” Cruz told Fox 5. “Every time I’m out there, I’m out there running around for her and catching the ball for her, so she’s always on my mind.”

Cruz was held to just two catches for 28 yards in his playoff debut in Sunday’s 24-2 win over Atlanta, but he added that he brought his laptop with him to the hospital Tuesday to study up on the Packers. Cruz had seven receptions for 119 yards in the previous meeting between the teams on Dec. 4, a 38-35 Packers victory at MetLife Stadium.

“I saw what they do (on film) and today we just reinforced everything,” Cruz said. “So I’m on track.”

Cruz, named a second alternate to the Pro Bowl despite finishing second in the NFC in receiving yardage, also moved a step closer to a potential trip to Hawaii later this month when Atlanta’s Roddy White was added to the NFC roster Wednesday to replace Detroit’s Calvin Johnson.
