Monday evening, right before the New York Yankees Toronto Blue Jays game, a nine-year-old boy gets shot in the leg by a stray bullet just blocks from Yankee Stadium. Click below to find out more.

The boy was shot around 6:30 p.m. as he was playing on Gerard Avenue and East 157th Street, roughly a half-hour before the New York Yankees took on the Toronto Blue Jays in Yankee Stadium just blocks away.

Police say the boy is recovering in Lincoln Hospital.

This shooting takes place four days after a dispute between vendors lead to a shooting on Gerard Avenue and 161st Street.

So far, no arrests have been made in connection with today’s shooting.
