With Dwight Howard out of the picture the Lakers have not only decided to not amnesty Pau Gasol, they’re moving him to start as center. Read more after the jump.
There was a chance that Gasol could be amnestied or traded during the offseason if Dwight Howard returned, but with him out the door and the uncertain status of Kobe Bryant to start the season, this may be Pau’s team. Gasol is a perfect fit at center in Mike D’Antoni’s offense and running the offense through the post will only help the team moving forward. With Gasol out of the four spot, the favorites to land the starting gig are Metta World Peace, Jordan Hill and Ryan Kelly.
