Damn, a 14 year old arrest warrant?!  This is kinda crazy. Former NFL linebacker Joey Porter turned himself in yesterday on a 1999 warrant.

Joey Porter’s return to Fort Collins, Colo. wasn’t just to finish his degree and join the coaching staff of the Colorado State Rams as an undergraduate student assistant, it was also to square an outstanding arrest warrant from when he was a student at the university in 1999.

According to Matt Stephens of the USA Today, Porter turned himself in Wednesday morning at the Larimer County Jail. Porter was arrested for speeding and driving with a suspended license in May 1999. After three court appearances, Porter failed to appear for his final court date in October and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The warrant remained unheeded ever since despite Porter’s 13-year player career in the NFL.

Fourteen years later, Porter answered the warrant and was booked and released on $1,100 bond.
