The brother of former senator Scott Brown was charged with impersonating an officer in Old Lyme, Connecticut?! Hit the jump for details!

47 year old Bruce Browne of Wolcott, Connecticut has been charged Thursday, with the heavy impersonation of an Old Lyme officer. The man was found walking on Sea View Drive wearing “military” type of clothing, with a gun in his hand. Officials say after searching his vehicle which was identified by witnesses as a “police like vehicle”, they found:

“three, 9-millmeter hand guns, a nylon duty belt with two sets of handcuffs and 12 magazines fully loaded with more than 200 bullets.. A black tactical bullet-proof vest with the word “POLICE” embroidered on the front and back was also found. A silver TSA badge was attached to the vest” stated police. They also a found an expired Coast Guard identification card as well, that belonged to him.

Bruce Browne, the brother of former U.S Senator Scott Brown of Massachusetts, was seen earlier in the day riding a boat, stopping three boats while identifying himself as Coast Guard Police.

“He was arrested and charged with impersonating a police officer, breach of peace, interfering with a police officer and possession of a dangerous weapon in a motor vehicle. He was released on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to be in court on Aug. 22”
