IFWT_Tip

It’s extremely common for waiters, waitresses, and hosts to survive struggle years on tips. But some establishments are beginning to lean towards not tipping. That would be a major change in the demand for waiting jobs, and also the effect it would have when you eat out. Hit the jump for more info.

While many people succeed off of the tips they receive, not everyone has the luxury of working at “top 50” restaurants. Some barely even catch high traffic. This usually affects the service either positively or negatively. However, the proposal includes an increase in the hourly salary. It would increase from the below minimum wage rate to between $15-$30 an hour.

In response, some feel that being paid a higher salary would bring out much better service and also relieve the pressure of receiving little or no tip at all. For $30/hr, I agree.
