Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has major confidence in his quarterback Tony Romo.  Enough confidence to give him a major contract extension and to call him “the best” quarterback in the fourth quarter.  Read more after the jump.

Jones was asked on his KRLD-FM radio show how he would feel about the Cowboys getting the ball with two minutes left and down by four, and Jones answered that he’d be confident they were going to win in that scenario because of Romo.

“I’m expecting to win it,” Jones said, via ESPNDallas.com. “I hadn’t booked it, but we had ‘em against Denver. And we’ve got a quarterback that’s the best in the business in the fourth quarter. He’s the best. He can make it happen when it’s not there. Other than being ahead with the ball, there’s no one I’d rather have at this time than to have Romo trying to get us down the field in a short period of time.”

While we’re all laughing at the assertion there actually is some truth to his belief.  Romo does have the highest fourth quarter passer rating in NFL regular season history (I know hard to believe).  What we all remember is the many times Romo has choked, so much so everyone predicts when he’s about to throw a game losing interception.
