Another victory for those anti-maryjane. Apple has taken Weed Firm, a game that allows you to virtually grow and sell pot from its app store. The app was Free and held the Number 1 spot in the U.S in the free category for two days. That was until Apple decided it was no good.

IFWT Techie Tat Wza says; “I believe they are looking at it as if they don’t want to be the source of drug use amongst teens, which for a business is proper, BUT let us be great….Damn”

The interesting thing about this story is that Weed Firm’s greatest crime wasn’t the marijuana content itself. A quick search and you will find a huge list of drug related apps. Ranging from informative to entertainment there is even a Weed Firm copycat called Weed Farmer (which apple hasn’t removed.) The crime seems to be in how popular the app became. The app averaged 4.5 out 5 ratings in over 5,000 reviews and became number one in almost ALL categories. There are plenty of other apps depicting “illegal activities” and Apple has approved taste-less apps in the past including one called “Babyshaker” (no need to describe what this app did.) All in all , It looks like Weed Firm was a victim of being ” TOO popular.” Funny right?
