Dave Chappelle has finally come out and has been making his rounds lately. Previously sitting down with David Letterman to talk about how he never quit “The Chappelle Show”, Dave appeared on “The Tonight Show” to talk about a couple things, including meeting Yeezus himself for the first time!

Dave Chappelle was talking with Jimmy Fallon about his upcoming shows at the Radio City Music Hall, his history with The Roots and how he met Kanye before he was Yeezus, basically before he was huge!

Dave recalls Kanye coming to hang out with Talib Kweli, Common and himself. While listening to Jay-Z’s “The Black Album”, Jay-Z says a line where he mentioned Kanye- And that’s when Kanye announced his presence.

Recalling the scene Dave says,

“Jay Z says on the record, ‘Kanyeezy, you’s a genius. You did it again,’ and Kanye stood up -first time he spoke all day -and said, ‘Stop the record and rewind THAT. We were like ‘Who is this guy?'”
