You had to be there for the early days of this amazing culture. What helped it thrive was MTV’s “Yo! MTV Raps.” Co-hosted by Ed Lover, the show was a platform specifically for hip hop. Unfortunately, you’d be hard pressed to see MTV play videos anymore — especially like before.
