LSU officials say a man has died of a heart attack at Tiger Stadium during the school’s 10-7 victory over Mississippi on Saturday night.
The LSU fan has been identified as Brian Tingley. He was 59 and lived in the New Orleans metro area, East Baton Parish Coroner William “Beau” Clark said Sunday.
Officials said emergency medical personnel responded, but were unable to resuscitate the man.
The man was sitting in the lower bowl of the south end zone when the health emergency happened.
The victim was part of a Tiger Stadium record-tying crowd of 102,321.
It is believed that the fan died at the end of the game while celebrating No. 24 LSU’s 10-7 victory over No. 3 Ole Miss, a game that was sealed with an interception with two seconds left on the clock.
