Earlier this month, Rihanna held her first annual Diamond Charity Ball in support of her Clara Lionel Foundation, raising awareness and finances to improve the quality of life for communities around the world in the areas of health, education, arts and culture. While tons of her famous friends like Kim Kardashian and Big Sean were there, as well as her entire family, one person didn’t make the cut – her dad!
Rih’s father, Ronald Fenty, has long struggled with drug and alcohol issues, and after coming dangerously close to a jail stint last year, he opted for an expensive rehab stint instead – which his famous daughter footed the bill for. He was doing well since his stay, but unfortunately, fell off the wagon while at his daughter’s big event, and was removed before he even got the chance to see her. Following the mishap, he granted a very telling interview to the Daily News, spilling the beans on why he and Rihanna aren’t always on great terms, what’s up with her and Breezy, the recent pregnancy rumors surrounding her and more. I’m SURE Rih didn’t appreciate this interview at all, and that it only strained things more! Check out a few major excerpts below.

On why he drank:
That day of the event I was really down. My other son and daughter in Barbados, Samantha and Jamie, were not invited and they were on my case about it and making me feel bad and guilty. Cousins and everybody on the other side was invited but why wasn’t Jamie and Samantha there? It wasn’t the first time either. I got really down and depressed and that was basically why I started drinking that day.
On Chris Brown and Rihanna’s relationship:
I don’t know what their relationship is now. At the basketball, they just said “hi and hello.” When we was going to the car park he was trying to talk with her but she turned and was talking to somebody else, so he came and talked to me and I had a picture with him. Afterwards Robyn said, “dad you really taking pictures with he though?” Let her do what she wants to do. This recycling thing don’t work for everything, people don’t ask me if I could go back with Ms Fenty. Chris is a player, he ain’t ready for no one women yet, he ain’t ready. He’s a party guy. When I see in the papers he’s in trouble, I think “Chris what the hell are you doing man?” The guy has got so much talent you know what I mean, to just screw up like that. He can draw, he can do anything, man you give it to Chris he can do it great. He’s so talented.
On pregnancy rumors:
No she’s not pregnant, but I want someone to start giving me grandchildren! Of course I want to be a grandfather. All my friends in their late 40s and 50s have got grandchildren, why not me? She tell me she’s waiting on her sister Samantha. She’s 32 and married but has not had children yet.
