The U.S. State Department has identified German rapper Deso Dogg as an international terrorist with close ties to ISIS, according to an NBC report. Last September, German intelligence officials prepared a 25-page dossier on the rapper, in which he was referred to as a “well-known German-speaking demagogue of the armed Jihad.” The State Department reports that he is currently wanted in Germany on war crimes charges; American officials also said that he is “emblematic of the type of foreign recruit” that ISIS (also known as the Islamic State or ISIL) prizes.
n 2011, Berlin prosecutors charged him with illegal possession of weapons after Cuspert appeared brandishing weapons as “Abou Maleeq” in a YouTube video. A police raid on his home yielded weapons and ammunition, and although it did not result in jail time, he was squarely on the radar of German counter-terrorism investigators.
