The body of The body of 22-year-old Hannah N. Wilson was discovered about 8:30 a.m. Friday in Needmore, Ohio. The senior was last seen getting into what was presumed to be an Uber cab.

Detectives arrested 49-year-old Daniel E. Messel on murder charges. Indiana State Police found Messel at his residence.

Uber is speaking out claiming that Messel had no connection to their company. The Uber midwest spokesperson stated, Messel is not a registered driver or user of Uber, and that the “the suspect in question has never had an association with Uber.”

When asked how Uber could be sure he was not an employee, the spokesperson replied, “It’s a fact. We have very detailed records.”

It is still unclear how Messel encountered Wilson if he was not a driver. However the University, did partner with Uber to provide drop off zones for students attending the Little 500 bicycle races at Bill Armstrong Stadium.

Messel is still booked in the county jail.

Hannah Wilson was set to graduate with a major in psychology next Month. During a press release her sorority stated, “The entire Gamma Phi Beta family mourns the tragic loss of Hannah. She was a sister, friend and cherished member who will be genuinely missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Hannah’s friends, family and the women of Beta Phi Chapter.”
