Two psychologist are being accused of orchestrating harsh interrogation techniques, which permitted and oversaw methods inculding waterboarding, forced nudity, and prolonged sleep deprivation.

“This is the first time a federal judge has allowed a civil lawsuit related to the CIA’s alleged torture program to proceed,” the Wall street Journal reported.
according to the Global Herald, “Whats significant is the government is not preventing the case from being discussed on grounds of state secrecy.”

The creators of the program James Mitchell and Bruce Jenssen, actually took part in administering the techniques, which was actually a violation of the established norms of international law.

The (ACLU) American Civil Liberties Union filed the lawsuit last October on behalf of former detainees, Suleiman Abdullah Salim, a Tanzanian national, who actually died in 2002 due to hypothermia caused by dehydration and exposure.

The reason behind the torture was the CIA trying to extract information related to al-Qaida but couldn’t prove them to be al-Qaida supporters nor charge them with any crimes.
