Man…busta bus. The legendary mc is reportedly being sued by his former chauffeur, for a bunch of things including harassment, discrimination, and for not paying the employee his salary.
According to a report by The New York Daily News, Jones filed a lawsuit against Busta Rhymes (Trevor Smith), on Tuesday, seeking about $236,064 in damages plus legal fees.
Jones’ lawyer, James Montgomery, told The Daily News:
“It doesn’t matter how rich and famous you are, you should pay your employees what they’re owed and you’ve got no right to insult or push them around”
Jones served as Busta Rhymes’ driver from October 2014 to February 2016, until he was fired for not washing the “chosen automobile of the day”. Busta allegedly said Jones messed up his son’s birthday as a result, and the suit states that Rhymes shoved the driver and also threatened to dock his pay during the ordeal.
Jones also accused Bust of age discrimination and harassing him, accusing Busta of saying things like he was “driving like an old man,” & “you driving your age.” Jones’ lawyer says “these remarks were repeated to him two to three times a week, were intentionally hurtful, upset the plaintiff and injured his feelings”.
Busta Rhymes is yet to comment on the lawsuit.
