The driver of the van in which Freddie Gray died in was found not guilty of second-degree “depraved heart” murder. Apart from those charges, Officer Caesar Goodson was also found not guilty on charges of manslaughter, assault, misconduct in office and reckless endangerment.
Goodson had waived his right not to have a trial by Jury. Freddie Gray died after officers put him in the back of Goodson’s van unrestrained by a seatbelt, handcuffed and shackled. People are not happy about this decision. After the judge gave the verdict, people screamed out ‘Murderer.’
Sadly, justice was not served for Freddie Gray.
