In the wake of the Dallas shooting that took place Thursday night, Milwaukee Sheriff, David Clark, urged Americans to “condemn and shun” the Black Lives Matter movement. He stated in an interview that the movement needs to “go away” and it will cause people to “delegitimize” and “marginalize” the group.

The Black Lives Matter movement is not a hate group. Micah Xavier Johnson, the suspected Dallas gunman who killed five police officers, was not necessarily affiliated with the Black Lives Matter movement. So to blame the movement for the incident that took place Thursday by ONE person who acted out irrationally during a Black Lives Matter peaceful protest is ignorant.

People are complaining about BLM but what about the KKK and other extremist groups who have killed numerous people for centuries? Why is it that when black people try and form something others try and make it out to be something bad? Stop stereotyping a group who just wants to be treated equal and not have to worry about being killed every time we walk out of our homes. And please lets not forget why the Black Lives Matter movement had to be organized.
