Kareem Abdul-Jabbar almost brought the house down at the expense of Donald Trump during his appearance at the Democratic National Convention last night. As he introduced himself, he invoked the name of another legendary NBA player in Michael Jordan, to point out the bigotry in which Trump carries himself with.

Jabbar stood on stage alone and then delivered one of the best lines of the entire convention. “I’m Michael Jordan, and I’m here with Hillary,” said Abdul-Jabbar. “I said that because I know that Donald Trump couldn’t tell the difference.”

The crowd loved every second of it as he was on hand to introduce the father of U.S. Army Capt. Humayun Khan, one of 14 American Muslims who has died serving in the military since 9/11.

Kareem has been down with Hillary since 2012, when he was named U.S. cultural ambassador by her when she was secretary of state. He was there to deliver more than just jokes however, he had another message as well, which had to do with Trump’s rants and promises.

“At its core, discrimination is a result of fear,” he said. “Those who think Americans scare easily enough to abandon the country’s ideals in exchange for a false sense of security underestimate our resolve. To them, we say only this: Not here, not ever.”
