Last month, she pled guilty to first-degree murder and two charges of child abuse. The boy’s remains were found in November 2015 when police were called to a domestic disturbance at the house where Jones and her 45-year-old husband Michael A. Jones lived. As police were investigating the case, they learned, the little boy, who goes by A.J. hadn’t been seen in months. The next day, police got a warrant to search the home. They looked into the barn and sampled a pigsty which DNA results confirmed belonged to the little boy.

Case prosecutor Chief Deputy District Attorney Sheryl Lidtke stated that the boy was “horribly abused” both physically and emotionally and “essentially starved to death.” He allegedly died Sept. 18 and Oct. 4 of last year. Heather Jones said,

“I have to live with this for the rest of my life.”

She says she was also in an abusive relationship and had no help or anyone to call on. Michael A. Jones has also been charged with first-degree murder and child abuse. His trail is set for February.
