Summer Jam 2017 is going to be in the history books for sure. Not only did it sell out the entire Met Life Stadium to a crowd of 50 plus thousand, but it delivered as well. Even though a lot of fans were disappointed there was no live stream for this event, we still got you covered. Artist set the stage on fire and then brought others to help them do it. With were so many guest appearances and moments from the artist that we had to count own the hottest sets from the night.   #5 Chris Brown Brings Out DMX to the Stage Chris Brown performed and danced with his usual captivating routine but, he did something no one seen coming. He brought out the legend, DMX. Crowd reactions went from shocked to crazy real fast. The Ruff Ryder performed his classics and reminded us that he still ain’t nothing to f*ck with!

#4 The Crowd Awes for Asahd Khaled DJ Khaled comes onto the stage performing his hit “All I do is Win” and new top charter “I’m the One.” We were hoping for him to bring out some of his featured artists from the songs, but we got something better. Why Summer Jam is the Core for Hip Hop Beefs?

Another year has gone and another Summer Jam to put in history books for Hip Hop. We thought we have seen the last of Hip Hop artist go at each other, but we held our breath too soon. Remy Ma notoriously fired shots on the Hot 97 Summer Jam stage and brought every Woman MC without the last name Minaj to do it too. Hot 97 has been the platform for artists lashing out against others and calling them out in a memorable performance. From Eminem to Remy Ma, we create a timeline for notable Hip Hop beef and performances at Summer Jam. 2001: Jay Z Debuts “Takeover” and Fires Shots at Prodigy and Nas Jay-Z lit up the stage and what will go down as the most vicious Hip Hop beef between Nas and Jay. This was the date he had infamously released the track “Takeover” and did just that to the stage. The diss track was aimed at Mobb Deep’s Prodigy, but somehow Nas caught fire. Hitting us with the line, “Ask Nas, he doesn’t want it with Hov.” Making this one of the greatest beef between Hip Hop’s greatest. 2003: 50 Cent disses Ja Rule and Murder Inc. 50 Cent used his stage set to call out the Murder Inc rapper by displaying visuals of his “I Cry,” “Rainy Dayz,” and “Mesmerize”. Then asking the audience to identify “bitch-ass n*gga” in the videos. He then took shots at the Murder Inc CEO Irv Gotti (ouch) 2003: Eminem Smashes His Source Award Now, this…

DJ Funk Flex Brings out Fatman Scoop, Casanova, A-Boogie, Juelz Santana, Fetty Wap & Meek Mill to Summer Jam

DJ Funk Flex has been quiet about the special guests he will bring to his set during Summer Jam. It was a good thing too because he definitely surprised the crowd by bringing out Juelz Santana, Young MA, A Boogie, and more to the stage. He closed the show with Meek Mill and the crowd went wild for his set. He also proclaimed A-Boogie to be the next hottest thing on the streets of New York. Which is no surprise? Flex has always had an ear for the next hottest artists to come out of the tri-state area. See a clip of the performance from Hot 97’s Twitter.

Did Remy Ma Just Perform SHEther again?

The Bronx native and proclaimed Queen of New York just fired shots once more at the Summer Jam stage. She performed the Nicki Minaj diss track SHEther since it was banned for copyright by Nas.  She even included stage visuals dissing the Young Money rapper. But she didn’t just leave it there. She brought out Lil Kim, Cardi B, Young MA, MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, and more iconic queens of rap to her Summer Jam set. Now, we all know Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim has beef but did you know Cardi B did too? The ex-Love and Hip Hop star released in a prior Instagram video calling out Minaj for being shady in one of her songs. See crowd’s reactions below

Jidenna Reminds Us That He’s a Classy Man

The overall classic man opens up the stadium stage and brought us everything we expected from the West African singer. Bringing us soulful sounds from his latest album including the radio hit “Bambi”. But a lot of fans were disappointed that the always classy man was not in his usual suit and tie attire. He then closed the performance with a barbershop like Quartet. Again, how could we ever doubt that he is the classiest in the new gen of Hip Hop.  See photos and tweet reactions below…
