Blackberry Z10 Launch Slow, Thanks To Galaxy IV

The new Blackberry BB10 devices are getting off to a bad start. Analysts thought Blackberry would do great in the first qtr but things changed when rumors swirled that Samsung would be launching their Galaxy SIV in March. Some thought they would launch around April or May, being launched so early will hurt the BB10 device since the SIII was a great success. Analysts said they thought the BB10 device would sell 1.75 million but now they changed their estimates to about 300k. Ouch!!

Blackberry Says Android Emulator With Jelly Bean Coming Soon

One of the major pluses of having a Blackberry 10 device is being able to run Android apps on the device. This was possible of course though Blackberry’s Runtime for Android apps” program. The downside, because you know there is always a downside to new tech, the apps are only available though Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, not Ice Cream Sandwich or even Jelly Bean which just means this thing is probably filled with bugs. There is still no word from Blackberry on a time frame when devs can transfer the apps though 4.0.

Windows Phone Over Takes Blackberry As #3 Mobile Company

Bad news for Blackberry, after announcing a new device last week, things seemed sweet just a week ago. News broke today that Windows just surpassed Blackberry as the #3 mobile company in the United States. “According to new research from Strategy Analytics, Windows Phone has gotten itself off to a decent head start as it overlook BlackBerry’s market share in the United States for the first time ever in the fourth quarter of 2012. Of course, we need to add a pretty big caveat here”. The real test for Blackberry now is will they be able to surpass Windows by the end of the year with their newer devices. In the middle of 2012 Steve Ballmer said Windows plans was to become the 3rd best mobile company, looks like they got their wish.

Analysts Believe Blackberry is Doomed and Can’t Come Back

Wall Street says good luck to Blackberry on trying to make a come back to the mobile market. Wall Street says the damage is too great for the come back. Analysts reviews of the smartphone have been all bad, one Analyst said they “see limited scope for traction in the hypercompetitive smartphone market” for BlackBerry 10 and another said “expect a muted consumer response due to RIMM’s damaged brand image”. Barclays’s think for Blackberry to win in the market they needed to price their new devices much lower than what they priced the devices at now. Can Blackberry make a comeback with all this criticism from Analysts?
