TLC Finishes Kickstarter Campaign & You Won’t Believe How Much They Made!
Last month, TLC started a Kickstarter campaign in order to raise funds to record their fifth and final album. It has been over a decade since the ladies released their last full body of work, and without a label to back them, they have to do it with all of their own money this go ’round. With the initial goal of $150,000 surpassed in just 2 days, they opted to still go on and complete the full 30 days. Now that that’s wrapped up, the full number is in…and they’ve made a grand total of $430,255! In return for their donations, fans will receive perks like autographed lyrics, photo shoots, listening party, slumber parties and more. Can’t wait for this album!
At Last! Diplo & Taylor Swift Peace It Up After He Tells Her To “Make A Kickstarter To Get A Booty”
Popular DJ Diplo and singer/songwriter Taylor Swift made amends during the Grammy Awards this past Sunday after a very public feud that was plastered all over our Twitter timelines. The beef all started after Diplo, who was rumored to be dating Katy Perry at the time, tweeted a mean message to his followers that said, “Someone should make a kickstarter to get taylor swift a booty” back in November, including a link to an actual Kickstarter page (which raised $45 for Taylor’s booty injections). Being the good friend that she is, artist Lorde came for Diplo’s jugular and tweeted to him, “@diplo should we do something about your tiny penis while we’re at it hm.” Luckily for the Pop/Dance world, all sides are now buddies again after T. Swift and Diplo flicked it up together at the Grammys. He posted up the photo to his Instagram page captioning it, “Then this happened @taylorswift vs taylor spliff #grammys2015.” We are overjoyed to see these two burying the hatchet and becoming buddies again. How Random & Awesome: Guess Which Popstar Just Donated $5k To TLC’s Kickstarter!
As we reported earlier this week, TLC have started a Kickstarter campaign, looking for fans’ donations to help create their fifth and final album. The ladies set a goal of $150k, and are already at $106,141 from 1,086 backers with 29 days to go. And you know you one of those backers is? Katy Perry! According to TMZ, KP is such a huge fan of the iconic group that she shelled out a whopping $5k for the project! And the way Kickstarter works is every donation gets something in return – making Katy qualify for a slumber party with T-Boz! LOL! I hope that actually happens because that’s epic. The Final TLC Album Is On Its Way With Help From Fans’ Kickstarter Donations
The final TLC album is in the process of being made, and after that, Chilli and T-Boz will no longer come together as the iconic collective. It’s been more than a decade since their last studio album and the passing of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, and they’ve since only put out a string of greatest hits compilations. Their fifth and final effort is on the way now, however, and they want the fans to help with the process.
