NBA: Carmelo “Likely” To Shut It Down After All Star Game, Wants To Recruit Players To New York

I realize most of my fellow Knicks fans seem mentally challenged sometimes, but even they should be able to agree this is the best move for everyone involved. Carmelo Anthony said yesterday he is very likely to sit out the rest of the season after the all star game. It makes the most sense. This Knicks team is going nowhere, and hasn’t been pretty much since November. Best thing is to have surgery and shut it down and come back 100% next year, with hopefully a better team. From the sounds of it Melo has serious plans to recruit guys to the Knicks this weekend.

New 70s Hip Hop Show, “The Get Down” Coming To Netflix

Cindy Holland, vice president of original content at Netflix, is creating something that the people are sure to watch – you know, other than Orange is the New Black. The Get Down is scheduled to come in 2016, and it’s been a work in progress for ten years now. Talk about well-thoughtout. The Get Down will be set in the South Bronx, New York, during the late 1970s and will follow a group of tight friendships who grow-up on the streets, only to survive them with hip hop. This will be a good watch. The evolution of hip hop began around the late 70s, so the genre through Hollands eyes should be a dope one. More after the jump.

NBA: Russell Westbrook Picks Up Second Job As Campaign Creative Director of True Religion

Russell Westbrook is known just as much for his fashion choices as his skills on the court, and he goes hard with both. You can’t tell him nothing about his style and he owns it whether you like it or not. He got himself some credit in the fashion world now by linking up to join True Religion, not just for a photoshoot or anything like that, but by actually working for the company. He is very serious about this.

New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees set a Guinness World Record for most one-handed catches in a minute, completing 33 on the ESPN Super Bowl set. Beckham didn’t drop a single pass and could have caught more if they didn’t run out of balls. The mark to set a record was 10 and OBJ destroyed that with ease. He is going to make Giants fans happy for years to come.
