13 years later after the falling of the Twin Towers, family and friends finally get an official location to call a Memorial. The New York City-based museum is now open to the public for the first time today (Wednesday, May 21st) at Liberty St, New York City, NY 10006.

The building not only memorialize the September 11 attacks of 2001, which lead to the death of almost 3,000 people, and the World Trade Center bombing of 1993, which killed six.

Inside the memorial you will find artifacts, records, educational resources, exhibitions and a gift shop where you can buy souvenirs such as t-shirts, stuffed dogs, police and firefighter charms for the famous Pandora bracelet, and other paraphenilia. But, it will cost you $24 to get inside.

Some people are furious about the cover fee.

“My son’s friends are going to have to pay $24 to go down and pay their respects,” Riches said. “I think that’s a disgrace. It’s the only cemetery in the world where you have to pay a fee to get in,” says Jim Riches who lost his Fire-fighter son Jimmy (29) on the tragic day.

In defense the museum representatives argued that there are many memorials with gift shops, and they are not getting ANY funding from the government.
