Russell Westbrook is always highly energetic and gives his all in the game.  On Wednesday night during the Oklahoma City Thunder’s game against the Phoenix Suns, Westbrook had quite the first half putting up 20 points, four assists and four rebounds.  Unfortunately two technical fouls and Russell Westbrook ejected put an end to his big game.

With the Phoenix Suns leading the OKC Thunder, 61-60, with just 27 seconds left in the first half, Russell Westbrook missed a layup.  Suns center Alex Len went up for the rebound at the same time as Westbrook. As the players fought for possession, Len shoved the much-smaller guard to the floor.

Len by the way is listed as 7’1″ and weighs about 255 pounds while Westbrook is 6’3″ and 200 pounds.  It clearly showed as Len swung Westbrook around like a rag doll before he fell to the floor.

Westbrook received a technical foul, while Len was charged with a Flagrant Foul – 1. Following free throws, the Thunder retained possession and the ever-fiery Westbrook (who had been engaging in some talking with Suns players on the bench) completed a layup through traffic and drew a personal foul in the process.

Following the play, Westbrook yelled loudly and apparently turned to the Phoenix bench. The referees didn’t think too highly of his enthusiasm and promptly assessed a second technical foul which resulted in Russell Westbrook ejected.
