In the 1983 film Scarface, the character Tony Montana lived in the home that was set in Florida, but Al Pacino and other actors actually filmed at the famous mansion in California. The mansion has yet to find a buyer after hitting the market last May. The 10-acre Mediterranean Revival estate in Montecito, outside Santa Barbara, has four bedrooms and nine bathrooms, features 24-karat gold leaf designs and an asking price of $35 million or an estimated 30-year mortgage of $128,768 per month.

The home was once available for rent for $30,000 per month in 2012 and in 2009 the home was on sale for $6.2 million but it’s market value is at only $14.4 million. The home underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation with new appliances and flooring. The mansion’s gold leaf ceiling panels show Alexander the Great in action and a Byzantine alcove modeled after the St. John Lateran’s Basilica in Rome. The estate has hosted Charlie Chaplin, John F. Kennedy, Albert Einstein, Winston Churchill and Thomas Mann as tenants or visitors over the years.
