I guess everyone has their off day sometimes even legendary comedian Dave Chappelle. On Thursday night had fans booing and yelling in the crowd at the Fillmore in Detroit. In fact the show was so bad most people are demanding refunds for their tickets. What most are calling a “drunken catastrophe” Chappelle took to the stage an hour late and was clearly drunkenly slurring his words and chain smoking on stage. He was quiet on stage and told very few jokes which prompted audience members to yell out of the crowd in dismay. Check out the video and details from the off night after the jump!

Chappelle took to the stage and hour later than his 9:30 set time and did not deliver anything close to what fans were expecting. During the show one audience member yelled “Lets hear some of the act” with Chappelle responding “Well sir, its a little late for that. Right now I’ve gotta get off stage because its 2 in the morning. Audience members quickly yelled out and reminded him that it was only 1 am. Some things the fans had to say about the show were “It was a waste of money”, “It was like a press conference”, and “HORRIBLE”. This may make sense once you hear tickets ranged from $50-$240 dollars and representatives of the Fillmore aren’t giving refunds. According to the venue they are not responsible for the artist’s content. So basically the fans are left in the dust. A representative from Chappelle’s camp said “Out of the 50 shows on the tour, Thursday was definitely not his best set On the flip side, the incident inspired some additional sharp-witted material and (Friday) he came back with a vengeance.”
