A North Carolina woman with the lifelong dream to be blind has finally fulfilled that desire by pouring drain cleaner into her eyes and eventually going blind.

Jewel Shuping, 30, has wanted to be blind since she was a little girl. Her desire to be blind became so overbearing that at the age of 21 she decided to take make her dreams her reality.

According to online reports, Shuping talked with a psychologist who agreed to assist in her plan to go blind. The pair researched causes of blindness that and after a few weeks of consulting decided to proceed with the plan. The psychologist poured drain cleaner into Shuping’s eyes in a painful yet fulfilling experience that she describes,

My eyes were screaming and I had some drain cleaner going down my cheek burning my skin, all I could think was, ‘I am going blind, it is going to be okay’

Shuping waited about 30-minutes before seeking medical attention and was enraged to see that she could still see the TV in her hospital room. She thought the plan did not work, but overtime she sees that it has.

Jewel Shuping suffers from Body Integrity Identity Disorder, a condition that causes her, and others affected by the disorder, to feel as though she(he) should be disabled.
