New York Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara will miss at least three to four weeks after suffering a partial tear of his pectoral muscle, sources told ESPN’s Josina Anderson on Thursday.

Amukamara sat out a handful of plays after suffering the injury during Sunday night’s game against San Francisco, but he returned and finished the 30-27 victory and didn’t indicate any problems afterward.

It is a significant blow to a Giants defense that ranks last in the league in passing yards allowed per game (304).

The Giants visit the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night.  Trumaine McBride, Jayron Hosley and Trevin Wade are the cornerbacks behind Amukamara and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, so the team would likely need to make a move to bolster the group if Amukamara is going to be out for a significant amount of time.
