UPDATED: Lil Wayne Drops The $51 Million Lawsuit Against Birdman and Cash Money

*Scroll to the bottom for an update* Earlier this year, Lil Wayne filed a $51 million lawsuit against Birdman and Cash Money, attempting to get out of his deal, get the money owed from his contract for completing Tha Carter V, and get the rights to all of Nicki Minaj and Drake’s music. At the time, sources close to Wayne said he’d be willing to drop the lawsuit if he was paid the $8 million advance he was owed when he began C5, as well as the $2 million he was to be paid for its completion. The Jasmine Brand has revealed that Tune officially filed documents in the case yesterday, stating he wishes to voluntarily dismiss the lawsuit “without prejudice” – which means he could re-file at any time. Hopefully this is a sign that some sort of agreement has happened behind-the-scenes!

What Is Cash Money Denying Lil Wayne? Mannie Fresh Gives Us The Answer!

Shhh, a Big Tymer is speaking! Since December, when Lil Wayne announced his disconnect with Cash Money, from thoughts of ‘it’s a stunt’ to ‘he should just leave’ everyone has/had an opinion. Next to speak their belief is former resident producer to the most disliked label, Mannie Fresh. “This kid is way ahead of himself,” he says about a determined Wayne. “Even when he was young, he was four grades up.” His time has come to move on. According to Mannie Fresh, Cash Money is holding the Sorry 4 The Wait 2 rapper back from advancing beyond hip hop. “I think Wayne is starting to see it in that way. Hip hop can only bring you so far,” Fresh tells the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Isn’t that the truth for any genre?

(Photos) Superhead Pledges Her Allegiance To Lil Wayne In Anti-Cash Money Hoodie

As Lil Wayne battles it out with Birdman and Cash Money, his longtime, on-again/off-again boo Karrine “Superhead” Steffans has made it very clear who her loyalty is with. Taking to Instagram earlier this week, the controversial author/vixen showed off her new hoodie, which sports the original YMCMB logo with the CMB (standing for Cash Money Billionaires) crossed out, making it for Wayne‘s Young Money imprint only. In the caption, Karrine thanked “JUST THIS ONE” for the gift, but didn’t explain who that was. She has a million and one nicknames for Tunechi, though, so it’s quite possible that it’s him. If it is, I wonder if he’s going to start selling these! Would you cop, if so? Or are you Team CMB? Let us know!
