Sybrina Fulton, the mother of slain teen Trayvon Martin, is allowing her voice to be heard; and it comes to the tune of Hillary Clinton. During a lengthy open letter on CNN’s Opinion column, Fulton made it clear that she is endorsing Clinton for the upcoming 2016 presidential election.

For a mother that lost her 17-year-old child to gun violence, Fulton advocates for stricter gun laws, including a more extensive background check; which is the language Clinton has spoken in recent debates.

The two ladies met in November 2015 in Chicago during Clinton’s election stops to meet with mothers of children who died in shootings or at the hands of law enforcement.

“We discussed how to prevent more moms from losing their sons to gun violence,” Fulton said of Clinton, “In spending some time with her in person, I also found a mother and a grandmother who truly heard me, and understood the depth of my loss.”

Although the Democratic leading lady’s war on violence in certain communities across the country are a big deal for Fulton, she also fears that if a Republican takes the Oval office, they will do everything in their right to reverse bills entered in by President Obama.

“Everything Obama has done — even common-sense reforms that a majority of gun owners agree with — will be overturned if that president is a Republican. In fact, the Republican candidates have vowed to roll back all of these sensible measures. And many of them have shown open contempt for the simple notion that Black Lives Matter.”

Fulton believes that Clinton is the lady to fight the good fight, and I can’t say that I disagree.
