Hundreds of peaceful activists from across the nation gathered at Cleveland State University this weekend for the first national conference to discuss escalating tensions between black communities and police departments throughout the country. After the closing of the conference, as folks were going home, many remained in the streets. Apparently, the police department believed this could create a potential traffic problem, so they attempted at dispersing the crowd.

After tripping on a rock during his family’s camping trip, 4-year-old Paul Franklin had gotten a scrape on his knee. The scrape was pretty small at the time. In fact, his parents only felt the need to clean it up and throw a band-aid on it. After they’d done that –about a week later– they noticed that the cut didn’t improve. It began to swell and turn red hurting so bad that the child was unable to walk.
