…and it continues. After not one, but two apologies, Rick Ross is still being talked discredited. Plenty, worldwide have passed judgement on Ross, because they are not fans, which is clearly the reason that Big or Em could get away with lyrics that offend. They are artists who not many disliked. Most people didn’t even pay attention to Ross’ line until it was pointed out by someone else. Killing, slanging dope, f***ing hoes is something you’ll bounce your head to until the artist that you don’t like says it. Drop down bottom and listen, while Talib Kweli (yet again), Rosenberg, and Ebro give their opinions and then give yours. Do you think Ross should have to continuously apologize and why is it that him and Lil’ Wayne gets slandered for such lyrics, but Eminem and Biggie got a pass?
Lil Wayne, T.I., and Future are hitting the road this summer for Wayne’s “America’s Most Wanted” tour. Tickets for the tour go on sale on April 12 with some of the 40 dates going on pre-sale April 9. It was announced that a certain New York city rapper will be joining the southern rappers on tour. Find out who it is below.
The debut of Lil Wayne’s I Am Not a Human Being II failed to secure the top spot this week, coming in at number two behind Justin Timberlake with his second week of The 20/20 Experience. JT moved another 318k copies, officially certifying the project with platinum status after just 2 weeks on shelves! Crazy! Tune’s number wasn’t too bad either, coming in at 217k…slightly above initial predictions. Get the rest of the top 10 below.
Nicki Minaj sat down with MTV and she goes over multiple topics, like the sexy scenes with Lil’ Wayne in the “High School” video and her teaming up with Ciara (whoa) in the close future. Nicki also speaks on her feelings like, “lyrically, I’m better then most of these male rappers.” Would I agree, yes! She also mentions that she doesn’t get the credit that she deserves. Would I agree, no! I’m going to be extremely honest when I say that the Nicki that first came out and the Nicki that is NOW are not the same person. The style and the flow, lyrically has changed – WHY – to sell records. Nicki gets a GREAT amount of earned credit from the people who likes pop music and the outfits and the complete “Barbie” brand. In my opinion if she goes back to the “Slumber Party” flow, she can take over the game and get the recognition from the ones she’s looking to get it from. Even though now, Lola Monroe is coming pretty hard – competition. This coming from someone who use to blast Nicki Minaj through the speakers. Drop down bottom and check out what else Nicki has to say.
Doesn’t seem like the beef between Lil Wayne and Pusha T is going anywhere anytime soon. While stopping down in Philly at Hot 107.9, Pusha T said he’d never do a song with Tune, but he did say that Drake is one of his top 5 MC’s. Good to see he’s not holding a grudge with the whole camp! (Despite the fact he previously said neither he nor his crew give a f*ck what Drake says, LOL.) He also revealed that his first single off his forthcoming debut album will be called “I Am” and features Kanye West…so it’s probably that “I Am God” track people have been saying Yeezy is set to put out.
