Following 25-year-old Freddie’s Gray’s death, at the hands of six Baltimore police officers, citizens and celebrities of all kind spread love for the city of rioting. Music icon, Prince recorded the track “Baltimore” dedicated to the city, and made the announcement that he would perform during a Baltimore Rally Concert. The concert that took place over the weekend, was streamed via the new digital live music service, TIDAL, which is most likely what brought out Jay Z and Beyoncé for the festivities. The two lovebirds, along with Bey’s mother, Tina Knowles Lawson and well-known philanthropist Alicia Keys also showed up to the event to meet Gray and fallen Ferguson, MO teen Mike Brown’s parents.
