Seattle Seahawks quarterback Trevone Boykin was arrested in Dallas early Monday morning after a car he was in crashed into a bar and injured five people.
According to FOX 4 in Dallas, Boykin – a former star QB at TCU (Texas Christian University) – was a passenger in the car. Police suspect the woman in the driver’s seat, 26-year-old Shabrika Baley, was drunk when she pulled out of a parking garage and suddenly backed into the front of the building. She was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Boykin was also taken into custody and now faces drug and public intoxication charges. He reportedly is accused of being in possession of more than two ounces of marijuana.
The car Boykin was in struck four people on the sidewalk and also struck a bartender inside the location as it barreled through the front wall. Three of them were taken to the hospital with injuries like a broken ankle and a dislocated arm. None have life-threatening injuries.
Boykin was previously arrested after he allegedly punched a police officer in a bar fight back in 2015, just days before he was supposed to lead TCU in the Alamo Bowl. He pleaded no contest to a charge of resisting arrest in June 2016 and received one year of deferred adjudication probation.
