NBA: Timberwolves’ Anthony Randolph May Join Frat During Lockout

Posted by Sabrina B. @gametimegirl Timberwolves forward Anthony Randolph has a unique idea for how to spend his time while the league tries to work out a new CBA.  Like a number of other players including Russell Westbrook, Trevor Ariza, Baron Davis, and Kevin Love, Randolph is taking summer classes and working toward his degree.  According to Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports, he is also considering joining a fraternity while he fulfills his sociology major at LSU.

But offseason workout bonuses easily could be flushed away. ESPN obtained a copy of some of the biggest workout bonuses that players have, and whom this lockout will hit in the wallet sooner rather than later. Jets offensive tackle D’Brickashaw Ferguson has the biggest offseason workout bonus — $750,000 if he participates in 85 percent of the workouts.


NFL: Giants CEO John Mara says there will be no ticket payments during lockout

Posted by Sabrina B. @gametimegirl New York Giants president and CEO John Mara remains optimistic that there will be an NFL season in 2011. But, to keep Giants fans at ease, he said on Wednesday that season-ticket holders won’t have to make payments until the lockout ends. Speaking on WFAN-AM in New York, Mara told listeners that a letter will go out to season-ticket holders next week that will give them the option of paying in full by May 1, or waiting until there is a new collective bargaining agreement in place with the players.
