Auto Talk: Updated 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee spotted wearing new grille

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is facing mild updates and a short 2013 model year because Jeep wants to get the thoroughly breathed-on 2014 model into buyers’ driveways.  Spy photographers caught a parade of the 2014 models with swirly wrapping covering a tweaked front end sporting narrower upper and lower grilles, a new fog light treatment and perhaps a bit more curvature overall. The interior was masked off, but a larger touchscreen is expected to grace the center console. Funk Flex

Auto Talk: What’s a Qoros? Apparently this is…

… Qoros? Let us explain. Qoros is a Chinese automaker co-owned by Chery and the Israeli Israel Corporation, reportedly working on bringing a handful of models to Europe. Auto Talk: Next Mercedes-Benz S-Class spotted with AMG trimmings

If you have the means, highly recommend picking one up. Sure, Ferris may have spoken those words in reference to a classic Ferrari California – well, actually, a replica of a classic Ferrari – but he could just as easily have been speaking of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class AMG. As we realized the last time we found ourselves ensconced behind the wheel of one, in that case a 2012 S63 model, we compared it to a spacecraft bound for Mars… meaning it ought to handle anything us mere terrestrial beings can throw its way with aplomb. Auto Talk: Are you the Audi S1?

The engineers at Audi look to be hard at work on a more potent version of the company’s A1 hatchback. Spy photographers spotted this machine out on public streets for testing, and the presence of a set of quad exhaust out back leads us to believe this could be the rumored S1 model. It’s unclear whether this machine will slot under the limited-edition 256-horsepower A1 Quattro or be sold as a less extreme version of the hottest of Audi hatches when that car’s production slots fill up. Photographers report this is a gasoline-powered model, which means the company’s 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine is likely kicking behind the headlights. Funk Flex

Auto Talk: Mystery Jaguar XKR-S track pack caught testing

Jaguar looks to be hard at work on a new Track Edition of the company’s already menacing XKR-S. Spy photographers spotted a more hardcore Track Edition testing at the Nürburgring recently, and while details are scarce, odds are the high horsepower coupe will serve as a suitable competitor to the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series, among others.
