The Patriots did just about everything right in manhandling the Cincinnati Bengals, 38-24, in their season opener at Gillette Stadium yesterday.

Everything went according to the game plan — until Randy Moss stepped up to the podium in the postgame interview room. Instead of talking about his team’s big victory or his five catches for 59 yards, Moss spoke about feeling unappreciated and not receiving the contract extension he feels he deserves from the Patriots.

“I want to be here as a Patriot,” Moss said. “I love being here, but I just think from a business standpoint this will probably be my last year as a Patriot and I’m not retiring. I’m still going to play some football.”

Not sure if that was the right time or place?!?!
