Porsche recently showed off their 918 Hybrid Racer in Detroit.

The two-seater mid-engine coupé 918 RSR is a development from the 911 GT3 R hybrid and the design of the 918 Spyder combined in a super sports car, with a V8 engine taken from Porsche’s Spyder coupe that gets 563 horsepower at 10,300 RPM. There are two electric motors driving the front wheels, which kicks the horsepower up to 767.

The V8 engine is a further development of the direct injection engine from the successful RS Spyder race car and now offers an output of 414 kW at 10 300 r/min in the 918 RSR. The electric motors on the two front wheels each contribute 75 kW to the peak drive power of exactly 56 kW. This additional power, which is generated during braking, is stored in a flywheel accumulator.

No work yet on cost or availability. Probably something totally reasonable, though.
