Despite leaving the team on less than ideal terms, veteran WR Randy Moss wants to return to play for the New England Patriots again.

“If you’re asking me where my heart is…I think my just success as a wide receiver and everything that the New England Patriots stand for, you know I’m a big fan of (head coach) Bill Belichick,” the veteran wide receiver told KFAN Radio in Minneapolis. “I really am. And not just on the field. I’m a fan of his off the field because the little grouchy man that you see on camera is not what you see off camera.”

Moss had one of the best seasons of any receiver in NFL history back in 2007 with the Patriots and finished 23 touchdown catches.

“If you’re asking me where my heart and where I’m happy is… I love playing with (QB) Tom Brady and I love being coached by Bill Belichick,” he added.

Moss, 34, was originally selected in the 1997 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings.

He played for three teams last season including the Patriots, Vikings and Tennessee Titans. He ended the 2010 season, the final year of his contract, with the Titans, but it’s expected that they will not pursue re-signing him.
