Defensive back coordinator Ray Horton was leaving work with the Pittsburgh Steelers for one last time before taking his new job as defensive coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals. As he was leaving he went to say goodbye to the cafeteria staff who had served him and the other coaches and staff members lunch and dinner everyday.

As he was saying goodbye to cafeteria worker Maurice Matthews, Horton asked him how much money he had in his pocket. When Matthews produced a $20 bill, Horton examined it and exclaimed “Sold!” He then gave Matthews the keys to his 1999 Mercedes Benz SL500 convertible roadster.

The car has a Blue Book value anywhere from $16,500 to $18,500, depending on the condition. Horton apparently told Matthews “Hey, you always liked the car, you’re a good dude, I know you’ll take care of it. It’s yours.” This is definitely the act of a charitable person, not somebody just trying to show off their money. Ray Horton certainly knows how to make an exit.
