Clive Davis

Clive Davis is responsible for the careers of so many of the artists that we love today. Founding Arista Records back in the 80’s, Clive helped bring people like Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, Aretha Franklin, Rod Stewart and so many more to the levels of success they have seen. Now as he approaches his 81st birthday this may, the legendary music executive has released his own memoir, The Soundtrack of My Life. With almost 50 years in the music business, you can be sure there’s PLENTY to read in this one. But one of the biggest bombshells? The twice-married man with four children and six grandchildren is bisexual! Kudos to him for having the bravery to share that with the world!

Marisa Mendez

In the book, he shares how his relationships with men began in the “era of Studio 54.” And when he separated from his wife in the mid-80’s, he began a 14-year relationship with a male doctor.

“After my second marriage failed, I met a man who was also grounded in music,” he wrote in the book. “Having only had loving relationships and sexual intimacy with women, I opened myself up to the possibility that I could have that with a male, and found that I could.”

His preferences caused a huge rift between him and one of his sons for a while, but they were able to get back to a good place after a “trying year.”

The Soundtrack of My Life is in stores today.
