A year after the shooting death of an unarmed teenager in central Florida, there is a memorial for him there and now a new police chief which an effort in hopes to improve race relations. Trayvon Martin, 17, was shot on February 26, 2012, a year ago today — as he was walking to his father’s fiancee’s home in a gated communities. The man who killed him, George Zimmerman, 28, neighborhood watch, is set to be tried on June 10. Trayvon Martin’s parents ready to let jury decide fate of son’s killer, but they haven’t stopped fighting.
