Wrestler turned Actor has annouced that he will be playing the role of Black Adam in the up coming “Shazam” film. If you are unaware of the DC Comics classic, Black Adam is the arch-nemesis of Shazam, aka Captain Marvel, who shouts “Shazam!” before becoming endowed with Superman-like abilities. This is very different from The Rock’s most recent role as the heroic hercules.

The Rock Tweeted recently: “‘Kneel at his feet or get crushed by his boot.’ My honor to become.. #BlackAdam #TheAntiHero #DCComics,”
Confirming that the actor will take on the role.
According to New Line Cinema the original script was altered so that Johnson’s character will be less of a villain and “more of an anti-hero trying to clear his name.
Johnson says he is working very hard on this film “I am putting my heart and soul and my bones into this role”. The character holds a very special place in the actors heart because it is his favorite comic book character.
