As stated, Mark Halper has filed a lawsuit claiming that he wrote a demo in 1986 titled, “Don’t Throw Our Love Away” and Sam Smith stole the lyrics. Halper’s demo begins with the “phraseology and significant phrase, ‘stay with me.'” A phrase, which was said within the song eight times. For this reason alone, the man believes he should get a piece of the Grammy winner’s pie. Why????
