Michael Young and the Rangers became the second team to clinch a spot in the postseason with a 4-3 win over the Oakland Athletics on Saturday, setting off a nearly hour-long party that began on the field shortly after rookie closer Neftali Felix retired Cliff Pennington(notes) for the final out.


Lohan freed from LA jail after posting bail

LOS ANGELES – Lindsay Lohan was freed from a suburban Los Angeles jail late Friday night, well short of the nearly monthlong stay a judge had intended for the actress following a failed drug test. Lohan was freed at about 11:40 p.m. after posting $300,000 bail, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Steve Whitmore. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elden Fox had ordered Lohan held without bail during a brief hearing Friday morning, But his ruling later was overturned after the “Mean Girls” star’s attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, filed a late-afternoon appeal seeking bail.


Jets WR Braylon Edwards busted in DWI this morning!

—Posted by Sabrina B. @gametimegirl Jets’ wide receiver Braylon Edwards was busted on a drunken driving charge early this morning, after cops pulled him over on the West Side and found he had double the legal limit of alcohol in his system, police said. Edwards, 27, was arrested at 5:15 a.m. and charged with DWI, after cops pulled over his Range Rover at 34th Street and 12th Avenue for having overly-tinted windows. Police said they smelled alcohol and Edwards blew a 0.16 on a Breathalyzer, or double the state’s legal limit of 0.08.
