It’s been a little over a month since we last saw the Social Bicycles (or SoBi)Â bike lock concept, a simple thing that could revolutionize bicycle loaning worldwide. Now, here’s the first working prototype, a GPS-enabled device that affixes to the rear wheel of a bike set to be offered up to others. Those others can call up a mobile app to locate available rides and retrieve the password necessary to unlock them. Once done pedaling they can just lock the thing up again and it’s immediately added to the queue of available human-powered chariots. This version is currently being tested and, while we’re still waiting for a formal release date, we’re also hoping the devices get a dose of miniaturization before then — they currently look more like briefcases than bike locks. Windows 7 Phone to Blow Away!?!?
Since 2008 Microsoft has been developing their secret Windows Phone 7, formerly known as the Windows Mobile 6.5. With the dominance of the Apple Iphone, Rim’s Blackberry line, and with the new Andriod making its way into the market, Microsoft thought it was their turn to make their way back in the market. Since the Windows Phone 7 is still in development stages much more work can be done. The icon and picture display on the phone is something that would have been seen on the first color screen cell phones. The phone is broken down into 3 main sections, tile (which lists updates, favorite apps and people) with apps listed in alphabetical order.The Gaming angle on the other hand is CLEAN!!! LAS VEGAS (AP)—Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been arrested in Las Vegas on a felony theft charge stemming from a domestic violence complaint by his ex-girlfriend. Mayweather, 33, was booked Friday on a grand larceny charge at the Clark County jail and held on $3,000 bail, Las Vegas police Officer Bill Cassell said. Mayweather’s lawyer, Richard Wright, said Mayweather is accused of taking an iPhone from Josie Harris, his ex-girlfriend and mother of three of his children. “He surrendered,†Wright said, denying the allegations against Mayweather. “He did not commit any grand larceny,†Wright told The Associated Press. “Josie can’t find her iPhone. We’re attempting to find it or replace it. We’ll cooperate in the investigation. We expect to get the matter resolved.†Harris made a police complaint and sought a Family Court protection order Thursday alleging Mayweather pulled her hair, punched her in the head and twisted her arm while she screamed for their children, ranging in age from 7 to almost 11, to call 911. Police said Thursday that Harris was treated at a Las Vegas hospital for minor injuries. “Please order Floyd Mayweather to not try and contact me,†Harris wrote in an application for a protection order that said the couple separated in May after living together for seven years. “Floyd has threatened to have other people do harm to me as well and if (there) is a way I can be protected from that please help me,†the document says.
