The Decemberists claim their first number one album as “The King Is Dead” debuted with 94,000 sold in its first week. “Kidz Bop 19” comes in at number two with 70,000 — tying the series’ highest chart position. The Script’s “Science & Faith” takes 3 with 49,000. Social Distortion’ “Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes” holds the number 4 spot down with 46,000 and Gregg Allman’s “Low Country Blues” rounds out the top 5 with 36k. Bruno Mars’ “Doo-Wops & Hooligans” is at 6 with 34k, Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” does another 33k (go KP! LOL) and Taylor Swift’s “Speak Now” is showing no signs of stopping anytime soon, selling another 31k this week, landing at number 8. Nicki Minaj is the only rap album taking the top 10. “Pink Friday” sells another 28k, taking the grand total to 951k! Mumford & Sons’ “Sigh No More,” closes out the top 10 with 27k.
