Rapper turned actress Eve, is set to host MTVs third annual Africa Music Awards (MAMA). This award show is set to be held tomorrow, December 11th, in the city of Lagos at the New Expo center of the Eko Hotel & Suites. Birdman Speaks on Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim!! Says “Maybe Kim Asked for It”!
Birdman recently spoke to Vibe Magazine about the happenings at the Cash Money/Young Money offices (including their upcoming February tour!) and when asked about Nicki’s possible “diss” track to fellow femcee Lil Kim, the Cash Money CEO had some choice words!
Real talk, but maybe Kim asked for it. Usually we don’t try to make money like that…that’s not our theory. We make great music. We have never been the type to make songs about motherfuckas. I think Nicki is speaking in general, not just Kim personally. A lot of motherfuckers have been hating on her success. To me, they are all asking for it. I don’t think any of them has as a talented clique as Nicki. We a movement.
 Woo! Personally, I think the whole thing is silly. I think Nicki had big upped Kim in so many interviews, I don’t know what more Kim wanted. I don’t think it was a positive thing for her to speak out publicly on Nicki because we need UNITY in the game, especially amongst female rappers because they’re a rare breed! I think both women are beyond talented and they should squash the issues and make a SONG!! Kim is a vet, and Nicki could well be on her way to becoming one. What do you guys think?? @MarisaMendez
Nicki Minaj Talks About Roman’s Revenge and Says It’s Not Dissing Lil Kim…While Kind of Dissing Kim Further
I was on the fence about whether to post this but as the chatter continues about whether Nicki really disses Kim…I decided I might as well. The whole thing is silly to begin with…Nicki has always paid homage to Kim and the rest that came before her. But nonetheless, after Kim’s comments this summer saying Nicki should still pay homage, Nicki finally responds…on wax. But while the jabs are SO painstakingly obvious (“Nicki she just mad that you took the spot. Word that bitch mad cause I took the spot? Tell that bitch if she ain’t shittin’ then get off the pot,” Minaj raps in the second verse. As well as “fuck I look like getting back to a has-been? Yea I said it…HAS BEEN! Hang it up…FLAT SCREEN”), Nicki still told DJ Khaled in a recent interview:

Nicki went to back to her roots this weekend…visiting Trinidad for her very first show there. She spoke with their local paper about her upcoming album, her Trini roots, costumes and hating her “Minaj” name?? The emcee told the press:
“I was always called Nicki at home so I was known as Nicki Maraj but my first producer [Fendi] did not like Maraj and thought Minaj sounded better. I still hate the name and I was going to go back to Maraj on the album but people told me no because my fans like it.”
